Today is the last day of National mourning of the Republic of the Philippines for our 11th President Mrs. Corazon “Cory” Cojuangco-Aquino.
Last week, the funeral cortege passed in our neighborhood here in Makati along South Super Highway (or as is known today “President Osmeña Highway"). I went out and captured the historical moment when the Filipino people waited for the cortege to arrive.
Inside you will find a short story of what happened, and after which, you can view all 332 photos to your leisure.

I first watched the requiem mass up to the portion when the funeral cortege turned left at Quirino Avenue. At around 1:30 in the afternoon, I went out…
As you can see, life already stopped in Makati. From Barangay Bangkal, I just kept taking photos while walking Northwards. My first stop was the South Super Highway “Buendia” Flyover.
Rain or shine…
Filipinos will climb anything just to get a good look and pay their final respects…
I reached Barangay Palanan
They’re not afraid, just as Cory was
